Looking out the bedroom window this morning, I saw this coiled-up something on the verandah wall. It turned out to be a sleeping diamond python, quite common and quite harmless; so harmless, in fact, that some people keep them as pets. As the sun came out, it uncoiled itself and disappeared back into the trees.

And guess what! This evening, as I took a bit of a rest on the verandah after a lot of gardening, there it was again! Same spot, same snake. I think we've got ourselves a new pet! A pet called Monty.
