I just love op-shops for the books I find in them. Today's visit to Ulladulla's Vinnies and Salvos, after having had lunch and a dip in the heated pool, netted me a few gems:
A brandnew copy of Michael Palin's Himalaya; a beautiful hardcover edition of Alistair Cooke's Letter from America, 1946 - 2004; and Allister Sparks' The Mind of South Africa - The Story of the Rise and Fall of Apartheid which opens in 15th-century South Africa and closes in Johannesburg in 1989, and covers all that transpired in between.
It brings back memories of my time in South-West Africa, cut short, in part, by my intense dislike of apartheid - click here.
