After weeks of hot and dry weather, the gum trees are shedding their leaves, and then their bark, and now whole branches break off with an almighty thump. It's a hot and dry summer but, thankfully, no bushfires - yet!
Maybe it's time to cool off in Bali! We're arranging for house-cum-dog-sitters in the next few months when we will head north for a couple of months. Padma will visit her parents in Surabaya and I will wander all over Bali (with perhaps a sidetrip or two to Lombok or Kalimantan).
