Thousands of people across New South Wales are grappling with the flood crisis this morning as evacuation orders remain in place for large swathes of Sydney and the waters continue to rise in regional areas. People have already been evacuated and worse is yet to come before we will see blue skies again by Wednesday.
So far, the worst of the weather has not yet reached the Far South Coast, and while we've had days of drenching rain - which keeps falling as I write - it's been nothing like the torrential 400m farther north.
Still, I believe in the old adage "Better safe than sorry" and take my chances with the wife misinterpreting my heavy breathing.
