Padma and I have a secret to make our marriage work: twive a week we go to a nice restaurant and have a little wine and good food. Padma goes on Saturdays and I on Mondays (only kidding: I go Tuesdays).
Padma's come back from town and brought back a surprise for me, Liz Thompson's book "From Somewhere Else - People from other countries who made Australia home", picked up at Vinnies for just two dollars.
In it, Liz Thompson interviewed and photographed over thirty people from a variety of countries and backgrounds who left their home and made a new life for themselves in Australia. Echoes of my own experience almost sixty years ago. Nice surprise! Thank you, Padma.
