The race that stops a nation ...

... didn't stop me: early in the morning on Melbourne Cup Day I put the finishing touches to the first twelve sections of the "Great Retaining Wall". 30 metres done, 30 metres yet to do!






"And what's that gap?", I hear you ask. Well, that's for the stairs: nice big, chunky, sleeper-steps leading up to the tennis court.


And there, in the distance, will go the other twelve sections.

Why build in steel and 75mm-thick-sleepers? It's all part of my Teutonic heritage - see below:




After that Herculean effort, it was time for a well-deserved bath for all the workers. At "Riverbend" we don't waste water - we bathe together!
