The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it

It Was On Fire When I Lay Down On It

Robert Fulghum, best known for "All I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten", reported that firefighters rescued a man from a burning bed. They asked if perhaps he was smoking and fell asleep, but he responded, "No, it was on fire when I lay down on it."

This poor man was obviously chemically impaired that day, but don't some of us - myself included - far too often do exactly the same thing: without thinking, we're jumping in when the bed is already on fire.

I read this book just after it had been published long before the internet and long before this audiobook became available which I was delighted to find on YouTube. Read by the man himself, it is a 90-minute treat.
