An early start in the pool turned into a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine and big blue skies, and a nice lunch at the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club (by its own admission sans apostrophe but who cares when the food is so delicious).
One of my recent ebay purchases, "Humankind", was waiting for me at the post office, and I added to it with two more books from Vinnies, "Quid Pro Quo - What the Romans Really Gave the English Language" and Tim Flannery's "Among the Islands - Adventures in the Pacific".
Then a friend from the pool dropped by to present me with a German "Leberkäse" he had bought in Canberra. Can things get any better?
