Friday night [he's] too tired; Saturday night too drunk; Sunday too far away". Those final four words give this Australian tale of salt-of-the-earth sheep shearers - one of my favourite movies - its title as well as its broader meaning.
It's a depiction of the sobering truth that most lives are governed by need rather than choice, and are spent just working for the weekend.
