Which, by the way, is 3.7 metres from end to end, which gives you some idea of just how long the snake is, which is handy to know as anyone who comes across a snake should leave it alone and keep a distance of at least twice its body length to stay well out of striking distance.
It moved too fast and I was, luckily, too far away to clearly identify it but it certainly wasn't a harmless diamond python. Still, snakes are easy. They kill you. People are harder. Sometimes they pretend to be your friend first. As Virgil said: there's a snake lurking in the grass.
