The habits of a lifetime are hard to break, and I'm up at the break of dawn to dawdle over a cup of black tea laced with lemon and honey while checking out the internet which is today's equivalent of picking the newspaper off the lawn.
With the house still silent, it's also a good time to reflect, not on any-thing in particular but just to reflect. And after over seventy years of living, there's lots to reflect. The good, the bad and the ugly. And the downright stupid. The sort of bad choices better suited to activities involving a sandbox, bucket and spade. But every Kraut has a silver lining and so, after almost a lifetime spent in Protestant deferral, I did grow up, and arrived at a sort of peace that passeth all understanding.
It's time for another cup of black tea laced with lemon and honey.
