Riverbend is around the bend and out of sight and a good distance away from the bridge work upriver, but even we can faintly hear the noise on a clear day, so spare a kind thought for the people living closer to it, on the hill above the bridge or right next to it at the bottom of Thule Road.
As their website suggests, "the new bridge is expected to be open to traffic by late 2023, weather permitting. Project completion, including removal of the old bridge is expected to be late 2024." That's another two to three years of bang goes the piledriver, bang, bang, bang.
