Will he get his day IN or ON court?

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić reviewing his troops

Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife Sophie were shot to death by a Bosnian Serb nationalist during an official visit to the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo on June 28, 1914. The killings sparked a chain of events that led to the outbreak of World War I by early August.

Now the detention by Australian Border Force of a certain Serbian tennis player, whose visa application has been knocked back and who may be deported, has prompted Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to fight for his right to enter Australia. "In line with all norms of international law, Serbia will fight for Novak, truth and justice," the President wrote.

That Serbian tennis player, whose name would trip up many spelling bee contestants, has now spent the best part of a day in immigration limbo while his legal team is limbering up to take the fight to the High Court.

If his lawyers fail to get him his day IN court, the Serbian tennis player may still get his day ON court at a little-known tennis championship, The Manus Island Open, and Word War III will be averted. P-H-E-W!
