Paul Auster's "Auggie Wren's short Christmas story has no Santa Claus, no Christmas tree, and no brightly wrapped packages. And yet there's plenty of giving. The tale about a writer's holiday assignment for "The New York Times" was initially published in the paper on Christmas Day, 1990.
A timeless, utterly charming Christmas fable, beautifully illustrated and destined to become a classic. It was later adapted to film in "Smoke".
