It's late Friday night. I've throttled down the raging fireplace to a slow glimmer which I hope will keep going until it can be restarted early tomorrow morning, and I'm ready to climb into my warm bed.
There's something a bit sinful and voluptuous about climbing into a bed that has been pre-heated by an electric blanket, even if that blanket's brand name isn't as nudge-nudge wink-wink as the lubricious Linda's.
It's been several decades ago since Linda promised that we would sleep wonderfully warm with her. Landfills must be full by now with old and worn-out Lindas but mine has been in safe storage for all those twenty years I've been overseas, to be finally switched on again at "Riverbend".
