We've just come back home after a long day in Moruya, first for Padma's mammogram - it turned out they were looking for an assistant and I've left my application - then to get my six-monthly PROLIA-injection, before we sat down at the "Crazy Women with Attitude" for a pot of tea and scones with jam and cream.
And, of course, against Padma's objections, I also found some more books. I mean, how could I pass up a SPECIAL ILLUSTRATED EDITION of Bill Bryson's "A Short History of Nearly Everything", and "Quaint Deeds" by A. J. Mackinnon, the same who wrote "The Unlikely Voyage of Jack de Crow" and "The Well at the World's End". And then there was Malcolm Gladwell's "The Tipping Point - How Little Things Can Make A Big Difference" which I think I've already read but that's the great thing about getting old: you forgot what you've read and can read it again!
And just as I was leaving, I discovered a copy of the "Confessions of a QANTAS Flight Attendant" and immediately thought of my friend, the retired QANTAS In-Flight Service Manager and now hobby horologist Roberto. It was in mint condition and only cost a gold coin, so I grabbed it to give me an excuse to meet up with Roberto again over a coffee.
I also picked up a little yellow something for our neighbours up the lane who already have everything. I hope they will appreciate the gesture!
