I was born in 1945. The other big event of that year was the end of the Second World War. By an odd coincidence, I was born on my birthday. Despite those really bad times, my parents could still afford a second name for me, and so I was born Manfred Peter.
Some four years later, they could even afford to have this photo taken of me and my dog just before we left Berlin during the Blockade in 1949. Even though there's still an acute shortage of the real thing, I've used some Artificial Intelligence to make it look more interesting.
