Now that the days are getting warmer and starting earlier, we have resumed our circuitous walk around the village of Nelligen, along Wharf Street into Clyde Boulevard, up steep Currowan Street, left into Runnyford Road, down Reid Street, before the final climb up Braidwood Street.
Not all the locals are friendly - although their dogs usually are - but there's always a cup of tea waiting for us at Neil and Elaine's place, if Neil isn't too busy setting a bad example by doing the weekly washing.
We're back at "Riverbend" now and, after having sent Neil a cease-and-desist postcard via touchnote.com, I'm back in my usual supine position on the old sofa on the verandah. With the sun on my face, it affords me an excellent perspective of the peaceful and pretty world around me.
Padma keeps telling me to burn it - the two matching armchairs have already gone up in smoke - and get something better and more "up-market" but it's the first brandnew sofa I had ever bought way back when I first settled into suburban life in Sydney after almost a lifetime without a permanent home, and I'm still sentimentally attached to it.
