According to statistics I read some years ago - and this article by Ray White Swan Hill - Australians sell their homes and and move on, on average, every five to seven years. Why do they move so often and so regularly? Has it something to do with the proverbial seven-year itch?
Our neighbours downriver caught the itch a little late because they had bought their property in 2014 for $650,000, and now decided to sell up for - wait for it! - $1,350,000, confirming another real estate mantra, namely, that prices double every seven to ten years - click here (well, it did sell for $1,280,000).
As the advertisement suggests, a "rare opportunity awaits along the river those who are seeking a tranquil lifestyle with breathtaking panoramic river views." And we are awaiting our new neighbours!
