You're off my Christmas card list

First Christmas card from 1843 - 171 years is long enough!

In fact, I don't even have a list anymore. Hallmark will have to survive without me because I won't send any cards this year, or next year, or the year after, or the year after that.

Panti Werdha Usia

Instead of decking the halls with Hallmark cards, I will add the money we usually spent on cards and stamps to our annual donation to the Panti Werdha Usia (old people's house; werdha = old, usia = age) at Undaan Kulon in Surabaya which is a very small nursing home for just twenty-one people who are really poor and have no family or children and rely entirely on charity.

Panti Werdha Usia

Selamat Hari Natal to the good people at Panti Werdha Usia!
