In fact, I don't even have a list anymore. Hallmark will have to survive without me because I won't send any cards this year, or next year, or the year after, or the year after that.
Instead of decking the halls with Hallmark cards, I will add the money we usually spent on cards and stamps to our annual donation to the Panti Werdha Usia (old people's house; werdha = old, usia = age) at Undaan Kulon in Surabaya which is a very small nursing home for just twenty-one people who are really poor and have no family or children and rely entirely on charity.
