They say the real estate market is cooling off but there's little sign of it at Nelligen. We'd been heading up to the highway to cross the bridge for our early-morning constitutional through the village, when we saw the SOLD-sign at 78-80 Thule Road, a beautiful house on 2403m2, not on the river but with views of the river.
The owners have only been there since December 2014 - not even long enough to get to know them as our neighbours! - when they bought the place for $650,000. Less than eight years later, they've almost doubled their money when they sold again at $1,280,000 (they'd been holding out for $1,300,000 to $1,350,000). There's still gold in them thar hills!
Will the new owners have enough left to upgrade to a better mailbox?
