My cancer surgeon in Sydney seems to be struggling a bit with the monthly payments on his BMW, so we are off on a quick visit to Sydney again in late April for another check-up.
After weeks of treatment back in 2018 and repeated visits since then, we've become quite familiar with the bohemian and slightly grubby atmosphere of Newtown where the LIFEHOUSE hospital is located.
Why not follow us on a short stroll from Missenden Road down King Street and back again, past our favourite Vinnies shop ...
... and Elizabeth's Bookshop ...
... and the DENDY Cinemas ...
... before reaching the railway station.
Walking back up again, we pass William Golding's favourite eatery ...
... and the apropos-of-nothing mural of Africa which always reminds me that it's already been more than half-a-century since I left from there ...
... and across to Sydney's mini-version of New York's Flatiron Building ...
... before reaching Clem's Chicken where we bought countless meals.
Can't wait to get back there again - for a maximum of two days after which I can't wait to get back to the peace and quiet of "Riverbend".
