"Too many books!"

So Padma keeps telling me, to which I reply, "Not enough shelves!" Anyway, the real reason for this photograph is to show you that CANON printer on the left. It won't print even though I still need some more documents to print out and sign and return to my superfund's auditors, and so I drove into the Bay to have it done at the local library.

They have this you-beaut' printer which allows you to plug in your USB stick which is what I did but nothing appeared on the screen. I pulled it out and pushed it in again, I even tried it upside down, but none of it made any difference. The friendly lady from the help-desk came across but she was of no help either. Then the light came on - LITERALLY! In the rush to get to the Bay, I had grabbed a USB stick which was in fact my rechargeable torch which I use several times during the night to find my way down the corridor to the you-know-what. Laughter all round!

Beachfront at Surfside after a recent East Coast Low weather event

On my way back I made a quick detour along Myamba Parade at Surfside which had been in the news in recent months after heavy seas had eroded much of its beachfront. A previous client of mine, who later became a friend, owned the beachfront house at 6 Myamba Parade which he sold many years ago. He seemd to have got out just in time.

(As did I because I remember when, after years of cutting the grass at "Riverbend" and wanting to sell up, he, with an eye to a quick profit, suggested that we swap properties. Luckily, I kept cutting the grass!)

I'm home again and putting the finishing touches to my tax return. I looked at it on my.gov.au and was amazed at the information they already have on their computer which shows up in all those pre-filled boxes: every last cent of every interest payment received, every last cent of every didvidend received, and every single share trading transaction is already on their files --- and yet they let two BILLION dollars in fraudulently claimed GST refunds go unnoticed! - click here
