... "Riverbend" went under the hammer - but it didn't sell!
This newspaper article, published just before the auction, described "Riverbend" as "elegantly placed on the banks of the Clyde River, Elders Real Estate feature home offers the discerning buyer a truly beneficial life style ... The home is reminiscent of a Swiss Alpine Chalet and is accessed by a cypress and camelia lined driveway."
It wasn't until thirteen months later, in September 1993, that I noticed the property was still advertised for sale. I made an offer which was accepted, and the purchase was settled on the 23rd of November 1993.
