At my age I keep losing things

This morning I woke up at 6 and lost an hour because it was already 7. On the upside, the clock in the car has the right time again for the first time since March. All this Daylight Saving Time stuff is so confusing, no wonder people keep moving to Queensland.

And for the first time in a month we've also had some decent rain overnight - a whole 10 mm of it. With a roof area of about 200 square metres, this puts another 2,000 litres of water into our storage tanks (1 mm of rain falling on 1 square metre of roof puts 1 litre into the tank - 1mm : 1m² : 1ltr.

And you thought you're reading this blog just for fun, didn't you? I'm trying to educate you; I'm trying; I'm trying ... I give up!

P.S. My American real estate friend in Fiji has taken a shine to the inherent elegance of the above 1 : 1 : 1 formula. This may be because his imperial equivalent 0.0393700787" : 10.7639104ft² : 0.264172gall. just doesn't cut it. Or it's because he's been applying the same elegant 1 : 1 dollar-for-dollar formula to all his own real estate deals for years: he pays the local seller ONE local dollar for every ONE U.S. dollar the overseas buyer pays him. The slow demise of the US dollar may mean he's falling on hard times as his commissions no longer exceed 100%. Pass the hat! ☺
