We're back from our day in town. ALDI, BUNNINGS, Woolworths - not necessarily in the same order! - followed by lunch at our favourite Thai restaurant, followed by a leisurely browse through my favourite op-shop where I found the following blue bananas:
- Markus Zusak's "The Book Thief" (I've already watched the movie but never judge a book by its movie!)
- "Nothing To Envy - Love, Life and Death in North Korea"
- "Mr Darwin's Shooter"
- "Hotel Babylon - The decadence and debauchery of the ultimate service industry"
- Geoffrey Blainey's "A Short History of the World" (I already have it but this one is in a beautiful hardcover)
I also stumbled across David Murrow's "What Your Husband Isn't Telling You - A guided tour of a man's body, soul, and Spirit" which intrigued me, and not only because of the rarely used Oxford comma in its ssubtitle. I shall wrap it in plain paper so that Padma can't see what I'm reading. I don't want her to know more about me than is absolutely necessary! 😀
It's a cold day and we're home again. I'm about to light the fireplace and brew myself a cup of tea before getting stuck into my blue bananas.
P.S. Started with "Hotel Babylon" and got as far as page 34 where a guest is being charged 800 quid for having spent all night on a porn chatline, when my mate Ian in sunny Queensland emailed me, "Hotel Babylon was made into a five-part series. Have them at home and watched them at least five times." So I went to trusty old YouTube and here they are!
