According to RBC Capital Markets, BHP may decide to pay shareholders all of its earnings in dividends when it releases full-year results next month.
Their financial results for the half-year ended 31 December 2020 were huge - see below - and the second half is expected to be even better.
I don't know where RBC Capital Markets are getting their information from, but with the company absolutely awash with cash from their iron ore and copper and oil sales, all of which are at or near 52-week highs, I've always expected them to at least declare a special dividend.
BHP will publish their operational results for the full financial year at 8.30 am Melbourne time on 20 July, and their financial figures at 5 p.m. on 17 August, with the dividend pay-out in mid- to late-September.
Let the good times roll!
