Padma asked me to access some of her computer files which were password-protected. "What's the password?" I asked her. "It's our wedding date", she replied. That's bloody helpful! How would I remember something like that? Anyway, she spelled it out: 1 - 5 - 0 7 - 2 - 0 - 0 - 0, which took me a while to write down before I realised, "But that was twenty-five years ago TODAY!!!"
Once past the password, this anniversary card was waiting for me. How subtle is that? 2 - 0 - 0 - 0 ! 25 years! I could've got less for murder!!!
Looking back at this photo of our first meeting in Bali, I seem to have talked myself into it. At least, that's what Artificial Intelligence seems to make of the photo now. Artificial Intelligence didn't exist twenty-five years ago; and natural intelligence seemed to have been absent as well.
Just to assure her, I told her I can't wait for her to come back from her five-week-trip to Indonesia -- if only to help me shave off all that hair that's been sprouting out of my ears and nostrils. The joys of old age!
P.S. Just checking on another old Bali photo from twenty-five years ago: no excessive ear or nostril hair there! Methinks they are meant to grow during marriage to stop us from hearing the complaints and smelling the burnt food. Of course, I have been known to be wrong but not often!
