The Ritchie Boys

A search for Dieter Noll's book "Die Abenteuer des Werner Holt" led me to another East German writer, Stefan Heym, who, so Wikipedia tells me, was "one of the Ritchie Boys of World War II". Who or what were the Ritchie Boys?

The above is not a trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s "Inglourious Basterds" but the story of the Ritchie Boys, Jewish refugees who arrived in America during the war and seized that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to avenge the Nazi extermination machine that killed their families.

I looked for the book and the DVD on ebay, but they are so incredibly expensive that I shall wait until a copy turns up at Vinnies. At least now I know what they're talking about if anyone mentions the Ritchie Boys.
