Plato said, 'A life unexamined is a life not worth living'. I would add: 'A belief system unexamined is a belief system not worth believing in'. In his book "God Is Not Great", Christopher Hitchens does an excellent job in examining all three Abrahamic religions: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.
Chapter Nine "The Koran Is Borrowed from Both Jewish and Christian Myths" taught me more in fourteen pages - pages 123 to 137 - than I ever learnt while living and working for many more months in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. So how could I share these newfound insights with others who may also have lived and worked in Saudi Arabia (are you reading this, Des?) or else are interested in examining Islam for themselves? You could, of course, buy it on ebay where it is available, starting from $19, but I've been lucky enough to find the full text here.
Luckily, the author himself read the full Chapter Nine, word for word, which is now available in this YouTube clip. What an intellectual treat!
