I could see myself sitting here

Home is the sailor, home from sea, And the hunter home from the hill." The house-hunter, that is! While we were on our annual trip to Sydney for my medical, we again stopped over at Bomaderry which we have been considering for some time now as our next home, its main attraction being that it has a railway station from where we could launch day trips up the coast as far as Sydney and beyond.

Within easy walking distance to the railway station

We stopped at the local pub on the way up and back, and wined and dined at the Bomaderry Bowling Club, and on our last day inspected this little beauty within walking distance of the railway station.

The advertisement, first listed on 9 April, reads as follows:

Bomaderry is going through a bit of a boom, and a similar house a few years ago would've sold for under half a million. Them are the breaks!

Anyway, it's early days and "Riverbend" may take a long time to sell, and I don't want to maintain two properties, so for now I take a rain check.

(As usual, the agent told us fibs: when I asked him how negotiable the vendor may be on the advertised $745,000, he said, "There's another buyer who's already offered $740,000". Just $5,000 below asking price? That's not an offer; that's a sale!!! No-one knocks back an offer 1% below asking price! Good luck with their Open House next Saturday.)

P.S. The house sold two days after we had inspected it!
