The photo was taken at HARRIS Hotel Kuta Tuban's reception desk.
If you have to travel through Denpasar/Kuta, this is the best place to stay,
as it is only minutes from the airport for the next connecting flight out.
(don't ask me why I'm advertising for LOWES; I must've got it cheap somewhere)
I've just booked Padma's flight to Bali and back, and her first night with our old friends at HARRIS Hotel Kuta Tuban, from where she will travel the next day to Samarinda in Kalimantan and then on to Java to attend some sort of function at the Borobodur Temple.
Having made the hotel booking and being once again surprised by the low room rates of hotels in Bali - although I still remember them from my previous visits - I question the reason for still living at "Riverbend", but most of all the economic one. The ever-increasing council rates - around $7,000 from next July - the ever-increasing electricity costs, the never-ending maintenance and repair costs, the spiralling insurance premium, the sum total of all that would allow me to live permanently in a close-to-five-star hotel in Bali, being waited on hand and foot.
Of course, I'm pissed off to be stuck here at "Riverbend", but that's still better than being stuck on a medivac-flight if my body suddenly decides to no longer want to do what I want it to do. Just as well I did all my travelling when I did because my travelling days are definitely over.
Let's see how I will manage on 3-Minute Noodles from June until July.
