There's only one thing better than reading a book ...

There's only one thing better than reading a book, and that is having it read to me (in a nice voice) - and if that book is by W. Somerset Maugham, but especially one of the three volumes of his short stories, then I'm all ears.

Call me biased but my favourite stories are "German Harry" and "French Joe", which take me right back to the Torres Strait where I had spent an enjoyable few months in 1977. As for all the other short stories, you can read them in Volume I, Volume II, and Volume III.
