Well, we're done with Christmas already: two lunches in a row at our favourite Thai restaurant in the Bay. This has been a year of Thai food. If we had gone more often, they'd probably given us naming rights to the place.
Padma had bought herself what she calls an early Christmas present from me: a dress for $149.99 which had been marked down to $35. That's a discount of 77%. Who could resist that? Not Padma who always has an eye for a bargain (which is perhaps why she's picked me!)
Anyway, it's pure linen and it even looks nice, so I told her to wear it to our lunches but not to cut off the price tag. I think people were really impressed by the dress because they kept looking and pointing at it.
There will be no more lunches before Christmas, so the dress is back in the box and wrapped up, ready to re-appear under the Christmas tree, which is a pity because I know you would've liked looking at it as well.
All I can show you is this dress which Padma wore on our last trip to Bali. It was just as cheap, and the butterflies cost us nothing at all.
