Ingredients:
- 300g honey
- 150g brown sugar
- 150g butter
- 600g all-purpose wheat flour
- Pinch of salt
- 100g almond meal
- 1 teaspoon cardamon powder
- 1 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg powder
- 3 large spoon water
- 8g "Pottasche"
[I think that's bicarbonate of soda] - 2g "Hirschhornsalz"
[I think that's cream of tartar] - 2 eggs
STOP PRESS: two good teaspoons of baking power will do for 12) and 13)
Instructions:
- Melt honey and sugar and butter on low heat
- Mix flour with salt, almond meal,cardoman, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg
- Dissolve baking powder in water, and stir into lukewarm paste under 1)
- Stir eggs into cooled-down paste under 3)
- Little by little knead flour into paste under 4)
- Heat oven to 180 degree Celsius
- Coat baking dish with butter and fill with paste under 5)
- Bake for 70-80 minutes
